This animation is by teens in the ArtWorks program, spring 2011, at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The theme of their animation was ?escaping reality?. In conjunction with ?The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft,? a talented group of high school students explored the boundaries between digital art and traditional craft through a paid internship program. Interns worked with Museum staff and resident artists at RedLine Milwaukee to create artworks in response to the ideas and concepts presented in the exhibition. Through discussion, critical reflection, conversations with exhibition curators, a unique teach to learn component and hands-on studio practice, interns were exposed to new artistic ideas, careers, and technical skills.
